It is essential that your child has a learning station at home. This will go a long way in helping to create the correct learning environment and an area where they can concentrate and focus. This area should be equipped and tidied at the end of the session or day, ready to start their new lesson or new day. There have been specifically designed ‘rest’ periods between lessons on their timetables in order to allow them to do this.
Ensure there is a dedicated area in the home where learning can take place free from distraction. Ideally, this space is neat and tidy with space to organise worksheets and printed resources.
The usual pencil case equipment that we expect in school will need to be on hand to complete work. This might include calculator, maths equipment, colouring pens/pencils, glue sticks and scissors.
All resources will need to be viewed online. There will be a need to watch videos or access subscription websites over the week as well as to have scheduled Google Meets for both form times and subject lessons. Please make sure that Chromebooks/home devices are placed on charge at the end of the day, ready for the next day.
In this document, there are instructions on how to access The Source and Google Classroom which we will be using in our delivery of remote learning. Check that your child can access each part of the system and know where to find things once they are released. Please let us know of any issues regarding access by emailing support@edgegrove.com.
