We are all finding new ways to communicate with each other and feeling connected is even more important that ever. Friday's VE Day celebrations should have been a very sociable day, but instead we stayed at home with our loved ones and shared any fun that we had remotely. As expected, Pre Prep families found amazingly creative ways to celebrate and mark the 75 year anniversary of the end of World War II. Some families chose to travel back in time and I particularity enjoyed seeing Ted in costume next to a vintage car and Dotty channelling a retro land girl look. The Haria family adorned their garden path with chalk bunting whilst the Carr family enjoyed a street party from the safe haven of their front garden. Monte's toy soldier tribute to those who fought in the war was so fitting as was Reuben's letter to his veteran next door neighbour. And the scones boys and girls! These delicious creations accompanied by gallons of tea and Sophie's home made lemonade made my mouth water. My daddy was celebrating his 9th birthday within a few days of the actual VE Day in 1945 and he remembers waking up to the smell of my nanna's legendary baking and enjoying the party at the local cricket club. Well done to you all and thank you for sharing your celebrations with us to help keep the community spirit alive.
