Year 3 Year 3 are continuing to impress us all with the levels of work being achieved, alongside their enthusiasm and promptness when getting to classes. In English, the children have continued to explore The Hodgeheg, this week moving on to learn about writing newspaper reports and all their features, including quotations from a whole host of imaginative characters developed by the children themselves. In maths, year 3 have begun looking at time; always a tricky topic but made even harder given the recent situation where many days do seem to blend into one! Finally, a big thank you for all the fantastic Maya presentations that we have been receiving recently. They are all absolutely stunning and really showcase the children’s interest and curiosity when researching this topic.
Year 4 Writing non chronological reports this week has proven what we were beginning to suspect, that year 4 are becoming Google Classroom experts! Given their increasing knowledge as users, it seemed an appropriate subject matter to a report about. Here is one of our pupil’s introductions:
Introduction Many schools are now using Google Classroom due to the lockdown caused by Covid-19. It is helpful because it keeps children learning. GClassroom is a class but online. This report will tell you about how to meet, get a code, go to classes and how to do homework and submit.
In science the children continued their learning about green plants, and explored seed dispersal and how plants make their own food via photosynthesis. The children have also been sharing their plant growing and frog spawning experiences with their forms, and India shared a picture showing her caterpillars which have now become cocoons. How exciting and we look forward to what will happen next.
