Listening Skills
Listening is a vital skill, it enables us to pay attention to and effectively interpret what other people are saying. It is not something that comes easily to many children, especially at a young age. It takes time for children to learn to control their attention in order to listen, but these skills can be learned and developed throughout life. Just about everything children do at school depends on their ability to listen, from sitting quietly in assembly to following their teacher’s instructions in the classroom and taking part in games teams. Teaching and modelling good listening benefits children in all areas of life through improved understanding and communication. Join this session to explore the three levels of listening: what they are, how to use them and their benefits To reserve your place please email Sally Sharp on ssharp@edgegrove.com by 5.00pm on Tuesday 13th October. Sessions will take place via Google Meet, and the joining code will be forwarded with your booking confirmation. I look forward to ‘seeing’ you there. With very best wishes.
