From September, in order to bring more cohesion and continuity to the learning and progress of the children, as well as the transition into the future schools process, Mrs Robinson will assume responsibility for the progress and pastoral care of all pupils from Years 3 to 6 and this phase of the school will be known as the Lower Prep. She will be supported by two Assistant Heads of Lower Prep, Miss Treadwell-Collins and Miss Dean, who both bring considerable experience in both academic and pastoral leadership. Miss Treadwell-Collins will move to teach Maths and English in Years 5 and 6 and both Assistant Heads will work across all classes in the phase.
I am pleased to announce that Miss Turner, who has been working this year in Year 4 and Year 1, will replace Miss Treadwell-Collins as a Year 4 teacher next year.
I also wanted to also take this opportunity to share that end of term outdoor events will go ahead and I am not expecting today’s Government announcement to alter any plans we have for those. The Friends of Edge Grove Cinema Day will take place, weather permitting, on Saturday 26th June and phase Sports Days will go ahead as planned:
Pre Prep – Friday 25th June AM
Lower School – Thursday 1st July PM
Middle School – Thursday 1st July AM
Upper School – Monday 5th July AM
We will be able to maintain year group bubbles within this plan, as well as ensuring that parents are able to circulate in smaller socially distanced groups to ensure we are as COVID secure as possible. Mr McManus will write with further details in due course but I wanted to draw your attention to the dates for your diary.
