After a highly anticipated redecoration of the boarding floor, the children were very excited to see their new improved bedrooms. After picking their own beds, chatting to friends, unpacking, chatting to friends a bit more, going through the changes in the boarding house, continuing to chat to friends (!) and then finally our first boarding family dinner we all settled back into a very different routine. Wednesday night saw the return of Dodgeball. With our new smaller group of boarders in our family, they were not to be disadvantaged and decided to still use the full scale of the sports hall to play and it was great to hear the hall come alive again with chatting and giggling.
On Thursday morning we had our first boarding family breakfast which consisted of us all sitting around the table in the Grub Hub together chatting about our days ahead before heading off to School. After a busy day of School, some of the borders decided to kick a ball around the astro after dinner whilst others wanted to play with Roxy (Miss Hughes’) dog. This quickly then changed to the children throwing tennis balls for Roxy to collect and return. After a great evening outside, we all went back up to the boarding floor for grub and a well earned rest. We look forward to our second week with our new boarding family and wish everyone a very peaceful weekend.
