Year 3 It has been lovely to see all of the children enthusiastically tackling the beginning of term despite the unusual circumstances. This week, we have been getting to know our classes and have enjoyed hearing about their summers. The children have drawn self portraits and have thought carefully about what targets they would like to achieve this half term. They have been very grown up in getting to know their planners and developing their organisational skills. They have also put their maths hats back on after such a long break and have recapped their times tables knowledge. What a lovely start to the school year!
Year 4 How lovely to see the “old” Year 3 pupils return looking remarkably like Year 4s! It is wonderful having new children join us too. There have been lots of smiles as the children have enjoyed and appreciated playing with friends, getting back on the sports field for Games, some practical fun maths and even writing about their summer holiday! Alongside those, they did some start of term art and DT and despite desks being in rows, the children have thrived in their new classroom environments. The Year 4s were also introduced to some fun facts about their class bird names. Did you know that woodpeckers have very long sticky tongues to get to the insects in the holes that they have pecked, and that these holes are perfect circles or ovals? The children are already looking forward to getting to know more about Romans and scientific forces in our first full week.
