A warm welcome to the Summer term to all Upper School pupils, parents and teachers! It was fantastic this morning to see lots of your faces in form time and lessons, looking eager, enthusiastic and ready for the learning challenges awaiting us all this term. Chatting to many of you, I can see that you are refreshed too, after a relaxing break, and some time spent outside in the sunshine, enjoying the warm weather. Something that has really made me smile has been seeing you in your homes keeping active; I have been impressed with the range of creative methods you have employed. From wheelie-bin basketball challenges, to yoga, badminton, drumming and boxing (not to mention exercises involving toilet roll tubes!), you are all making a super effort to keep moving and have fun. Please keep this up, and do continue to share your ‘boredom busters’ with me, your peers and your form tutors!
Also, a very special thank you must go to Harry in 7M who composed song lyrics entitled ‘Covid-19’:
Thanks to The National Health Service Also to all of the key workers Thanks to the teachers and preachers To help the planet run Cos you know that they don't do it for fun You do know we're just a rock floating in space And this little percentage is saving the whole human race We are in the goldilocks zone by luck And now the universe is thinking well They made a big decision and I think they made it wrong That's why Covid 19 came and that's why I wrote this song You can do more than just sit down Instead make someone's frown upside down But now in isolation we have some free time Maybe write a book a song or a rhyme You may think that all these times are so low But let's just go with the flow You’ve heard about the virus you know it's out there Don't think negative and say its not fair Don't think of it like a crime scene Just call it Covid 19
