This coaching session offers an opportunity to:
We are all adjusting to a new way of living, learning and working. Children and adults alike are dealing with unprecedented change in day-to-day living, each dealing with their own challenges in their own way. Thoughts, feeling and actions will, without doubt, be affected at times and maintaining a positive mindset and the motivation to overcome challenges is key for everyone’s wellbeing.
To reserve you place please email Sally Sharp (Head of Wellbeing) by 5.00pm on Tuesday 21st April indicating the name of your child(ren) and the session you would like to join:
Pre-School and Pre Prep: 3.00-3.45pm Lower School: 1.30-2.15pm Middle School: 11.00-11.45am Upper School: 9.30-10.15am
Sessions will take place via Google Meet and the joining code will be forwarded with your booking confirmation.

Simple steps to finding calm By Sally Sharp
Over recent weeks the rapid pace of change we have all encountered and the unfamiliar way in which we are living has been overwhelming, and when change occurs we naturally search for understanding and ultimately acceptance to enable us to move on. This process can take us through a range of emotional states, some of which may be scary and unsettling. By focusing on the things we can influence rather than those we cannot we are able to steady ourselves, feel more positive and find a sense of calm.
1. Create clarity - Make a list of everything you are concerned or worried about. Divide the list into two: a) Things that you have influence over – ‘TO DO’ list b) Those that you do not – ‘NOT TO DO’ list
2. Make a plan - Work through your ‘TO DO’ list, one item at a time as follows:

3. Breathe - When we feel under threat the emotional fight, flight, freeze response is triggered, putting our whole system under stress and increasing cortisol levels in the body. Breathing techniques are an effective way of sending signals to the brain that all is well even when our thoughts tell us all is not.
Repeating throughout the day may help maintain a feeling of calm, and at night aid sleep.
4. Anchoring – Having practices that we can turn to to steady us during unsettling times can calm both mind and body.
5. Focus on normality - During times of uncertainty and change it is easy to be overwhelmed by everything that you need to do differently and lose sight of what has remained the same. Take time to remember the many things that have remained the same and those that will return…
