This week saw the relaunch of the House system at Edge Grove. During the staff INSET sessions prior to the start of the term ALL staff were involved in House related activities designed to strengthen House spirit and promote a sense of belonging. These sessions were embraced with high energy enthusiasm from all and really captured the spirit of Edge Grove.
So now to week 2 and the first House meetings of the year. Wow, what an incredible atmosphere around school as I circulated through the various House meetings. Not only were the staff showing full support in their rather fetching new house colour baseball caps but pupils were cheering, chanting and there was a tangible feeling of excitement in the air.
So to the first House competition of the year, and what a place to start. The children have been asked to design a flag that represents their House and their House values. Every entry will earn points for their House. A child from every house, across all key stages, will be selected to have their design printed and included on the House flag. This significant symbol for each House will have the opportunity to fly proudly at the front of school should they be fortunate enough to win the termly House cup.
