A busy and exciting week starting with the first house meetings of the year, as well as the first inter-house sport competition.
It is clear that a palpable sense of house-spirit has re-ignited across all phases of the school ready for a new, exciting school year with lots of competition and teamwork. It was fantastic to see year 8 pupil house captains play an active, key role in house meetings and even travel down to Pre-Prep to inspire and guide the youngest members of the house. Year 8 captains also ended their week with a meeting and cup of tea with Mr Stanley, Miss Saville & Mr Aitchison in the boardroom.
All details about the first house competition ‘new year…new goals’ is on your child’s house Google classroom. Pupils are tasked with creating an artistic piece of work relating to their dreams and aspirations for the future OR a goal they want to independently achieve this year. They may present this in any way they like - the more creative the better. Year 5 & 6 House Hockey Results:
What better way to start the House sporting competitions than by hosting a Year 5 & 6 House Hockey afternoon of fun and games. The girls played with great spirit and determination and all had a great time.
The results were as follows:
1st: Churchills 2nd: Sarnesfield 3rd: Stratton 4th: Hedgerows 5th: Gills
Well done for putting in a wonderful effort and demonstrating great sportsmanship.
Year 5 - 8 House Football Results:
Again what a fabulous effort from all of the children involved in the House Football Competition. The matches were exceptionally close with excellent attacks being nullified by steely and gritty defences especially in the Colts matches.
It was lovely to see the excellent teamwork and comradery during the matches and at the end of the competition.
