I am pleased to announce the appointment of Miss Alice Ketley as Pre-School Teacher from September. Miss Ketley will work alongside Miss Chalmers and the team and brings with her a wealth of experience from her current role where she is Phase Leader for Early Years. Miss Carys Henwood, Reception Teacher, has been promoted to the role of Early Years Foundation Stage Coordinator. Miss Henwood has been an integral part of the Pre Prep team since 2010 and I am thrilled that she will take on this leadership role next year.
After over twenty years of dedicated service to Edge Grove, Mr Wickens will retire from his role as Head of History. I am delighted that Miss Ellie Piper, currently part of our Middle School specialist teaching staff, will be fulfilling a long held ambition to step into the role of lead teacher of History.
Mr Lester will be leaving this year to return to teaching in Key Stage 3 and 4. I am thrilled that we will be strengthening the English department through the appointment of Mrs Jane Broadis, currently English, Literacy and Oracy leader at Croxley Danes School. Miss Abigail Treadwell-Collins will move from Year 4 to become specialist teacher and tutor in Years 5 and 6. She will also take on the role of Assistant Head of Lower Prep alongside Miss Dean. Together, they will assist Mrs Robinson with oversight of the progress and pastoral care of all pupils within the phase. The Head of English is currently being advertised as an internal vacancy and I shall be able to confirm this appointment before the end of term.
We also say a fond farewell to Mrs Thompson, who will be relocating to the United States this Summer and I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Jason Kieldson as Head of Maths. Mr Kieldson has previously held the position of Head of Maths at Chesham Prep and joins Edge Grove following two years in an international school in the United States.
