We very much enjoy whole school events, especially if there is an element of competition involved. Creative Arts Day involved each House in preparing a song with a freeze frame and also making a kite as a prop. We began the day with a community singing lesson to tune in to ‘Let’s Go Fly a Kite’ much to the delight of both Mr and Mrs Eglinton, our voices soaring in to the atmosphere to lift all of our spirits! With customary enthusiasm, the Pre Prep staff House leaders took the brief and literally hung bells and bows on it to support the pupils to sing more expressively, make more creatively and act more dramatically than anyone else.
We spent a very happy day with all year groups side by side, working collaboratively towards the final assembly and a chance to share the fruits of our labours. In Pre-School, a kite themed day was also in full swing where learning in all its forms was in evidence. The pupils attempted to fly a kite in the garden and learned that in the absence of wind a healthy gallop does the trick. We have to say a very well done to Hedgerows and Stratton who were jointly awarded the trophy by the judging panel led by Mr Evans and we now look forward to the House Pancake Race on Shrove Tuesday.
