136 pupils from 20 schools took part in the National Prep Schools Table-tennis Championships on Saturday at Edge Grove, last held in 2019. Players competed in mini-leagues of 4 before progressing to the playoffs and knockout stages. The standard of play was very high with plenty of county players and a few nationally ranked boys participating. Thanks go to our caterers, Stuart and his team of match officials (including ex-pupil Alex B who was national champion in 2019) and to Mr McManus and Mr Craxton for organising the day. Congratulations to all our players who took part!! Results as follows: U11 Boys (64 entries): well done to Ben R who reached the last 16 (where he lost to the eventual winner), Yuvraaj and Kamil (2nd in their groups), Isaac, Fewa and Yousuf (group 3rd) and Oliver W, Funwa, Ridley and Tobi (group 4th) U11 Girls (8 entries): National Champion: Natasha, Runner-up Sophia, 3rd Aria, 4th Ayo. Also competing were Lily Rose, Georgina, Amelie and Summer U13 Boys (56 entries): Jamie P reached the quarter-finals, Jimi lost in the last 16, Roman won his group, Aarav was group 2nd, Charlie P group 3rd and Joseph and Charlie B group 4th U13 Girls (8 entries), the team saw off the opposition from the three St Andrews girls to record these results: National Champion Caitlin, Runner-up Sophie, 3rd Stephie, 4th Mirabelle, 5th Emilia
