Get to know the people behind Edge Grove
What is your name?
Carys Henwood.
What is your role at Edge Grove?
Reception teacher and Head of Activities.
How long have you been at Edge Grove?
11 years.
What did you do before joining Edge Grove?
I came to Edge Grove straight from college. I also had a Saturday job at Sainsbury's!
What do you love most about your job?
That every single day is different and I get to do a job I absolutely love doing.
What do you love most about Edge Grove?
I love to talk and I love that I can have different conversations about different things with different people throughout the week. I also love the grounds the school sits on and count myself very lucky that I get to come to work here every day.
Who is your favourite colleague and why?
My mum! Because she is my mum (she works in Year 1).
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I would love to live in a rainforest high up in a tree house - maybe not forever but for some time. I think it would be fascinating watching life in the rainforest.
I would also love to live somewhere hot and near the beach. The beach is my favourite place to relax and switch off.
What is your biggest fear? Rats and mice. I have a cat called Eric at home and I am always petrified that he will bring a 'present' in! What did you want to be when you were little?
I have always wanted to be a teacher. I used to ask my mum to bring home paper registers from the school she used to work at so I could play teachers with my teddies.
