We have recently welcomed a number of new staff members to the Edge Grove community. You will have already met some of them but over the next few weeks we will introduce them to you here...
What is your name? Mr Tom Wallis What is your role at Edge Grove? Specialist Teacher of PE and Games What was your previous role before joining Edge Grove? I have come from Bedford Modern School where I was a Graduate Sports Assistant for the last 3 years. Across the Senior & Junior School I taught a variety of sports and activities including Hockey, Netball and Cricket. Last year I also completed my PGCE in Physical Education through the University of Buckingham and I will be continuing my role as the Lead U17 coach for Bedfordshire Hockey.
What are your hobbies and interests? What do you like to do in your spare time? Outside of work I enjoy watching and playing sport, particularly Hockey which I played for Bedford Hockey Club's 1st XI. As well as sport I love travelling and visiting/helping on my family farm. What are you most excited about starting at Edge Grove? Getting to know the pupils and having sports fixtures again!
What is your name? Miss Alice Harding
What is your role at Edge Grove? Year 4 Class Teacher
What was your previous role before joining Edge Grove? For the last couple of years I have been a PA in London. Prior to this I taught at Plymouth College Prep School where I was a Year 2 Class Teacher. I then moved to Harpenden where I was the Year 3 class teacher and Head of RE and History.
What are your hobbies and interests? What do you like to do in your spare time? Walking, I love walking through the Hertfordshire countryside and enjoy stopping off at a cafe for cake and coffee.
What are you most excited about starting at Edge Grove? Looking forward to working with the team in Year 4 and getting to know the children.
What is your name? Mr Jason Keildson What is your role at Edge Grove? Head of Maths What was your previous role before joining Edge Grove? I have spent the last couple of years teaching at the British International School of Houston and prior to that, I was the Head of Maths at Chesham Preparatory school.
What are your hobbies and interests? What do you like to do in your spare time? As a born and bred South African, I do enjoy a regular barbeque and try to spend as much time outdoors as possible. I also enjoy fishing, watching rugby on the weekends and keeping fit through regular visits to the gym. What are you most excited about starting at Edge Grove? I look forward to becoming a part of the Edge Grove family and making Maths exciting, challenging and rewarding for all my pupils. It has been wonderful to receive such a warm reception and I feel privileged to be able to work alongside such talented and enthusiastic colleagues.
