This year we welcomed 11 new members of staff to the Edge Grove family. You will have already met some of them but over the next few weeks we will introduce them to you here, starting with five new members of staff from the Admin team, PE department and Languages.
Caitlin O'Sullivan
My name is Miss Caitlin O'Sullivan and I am the new subject specialist Latin teacher at Edge Grove. My previous roles were at Watford Girls Grammar School and Loreto College in St Albans.
The aspect that I love most about my job is the ability to engage pupils with the Classical world that is still all around them. I like to show them how a Latin education can contribute to their long term goals and aspirations, no matter how varied they may be. I also really enjoy being a form tutor as I get to know the pupils in a different setting, encouraging their progress and also sometimes competing in Inter House challenges.
Outside of school I have a passion for travel (particularly to Greece and Italy!) and also take part in various archaeological digs across the UK.
Mrs Clifford - Administrator & Parent Liaison
Jackie Clifford
I work in the School Office as an Administrator and Parent Liaison. I previously worked as an administrator in a secondary school in St Albans for 5 years. I have four adult children, who are all still living at home!
In my previous life, pre-children, I worked in banking in the City for 12 years. I was a keen runner, having completed the St Albans Half-Marathon twice, but now enjoy walking as a form of exercise as it's easier on the joints!
Mrs Lloyd - Head of PE & Girls' Games
Biba Lloyd
As the Head of PE and Girls Games I am lucky enough to be teaching all age groups throughout the school. I have previously taught in Secondary and Prep schools in London and Buckinghamshire and joined Edge Grove from Northwood College. For 8 years I ran a multi ball sport programme called Playball delivering curriculum PE and after school clubs in a number of local schools.
During a gap in my teaching career I worked, and studied a masters in, Human Resource Management.
I enjoy being active by running and going to the gym and I spend much of my free time watching my 3 sport mad children playing something with a ball! As well as sport I also love music and travel.
