Other children may seem to struggle with boundaries and following rules. They may be defiant or try to talk their way out of things that are not optional. Patterns of behaviour may be noticed at certain times of the day, during certain tasks or with certain people. ‘Acting out’ is often a normal part of childhood, a sign that a child is becoming more independent, indications that they are testing boundaries, developing skills and opinions, but when a child is acting out a lot it can become problematic.
