Music, Drama, Art
It has been an extremely busy time in the Creative Arts department. Well done to all the pupils who took part in the various performances last week. They all did so well and we can't wait to share the recordings with you soon. Photography This week in Photography Rotation the children were learning about layering. The photographs that were produced are amazing and it is great to see how far the children have come this half of term. During Elective this week the children braved the wet weather and went outside to take photographs. Once they were uploaded the children edited them using layering and played around with transparency levels. Excellent work from all of the Photographers this week and I hope that you all have a peaceful holiday.
Art While the Year 3s have been learning about the elements of art online at home, the Year 4s have been busy progressing their Hundertwasser projects. Some of the children have finished their final pieces, while others still have a little way to go. Either way, they are all looking magnificent and I am very proud of them!
Year 5s are also progressing well and most are now ready to start glazing their bisque fired tiles.
Year 6 are also nearing the end of their mixed media final pieces. The methods have been slightly different for each of the classes but all are brilliant!
Year 7s and 8s were given a choice of art styles to inspire their own artworks; Franz Marc, Jean Michel Basquiat or Zentangle. The children are now starting their final pieces and will finish them in January. I am so pleased with the progress all of the children have been able to make this term despite some lessons taking place in non-specialist classrooms. Well done to all!
