It has been a fantastic term in so many ways, not least because of the tremendous effort and resilience of the staff, the determination of the pupils and the huge support of parents. I don’t want to talk about the dreaded pandemic any more than is necessary as it seems to have already consumed so much of our energy. Suffice to say, we have overcome the challenges together and your continued encouragement and support is very much appreciated.
Christmas is also a time when we reflect on the recent months gone by and our thoughts are with those in the wider community who have faced sadness, loss and tragedy. In particular, our thoughts are with the family of Sadie Salt, whose untimely death in devastating circumstances in November was felt deeply in our local community. Sadie’s parents have set up a petition to ban higher risk food items for children under five and I would like to provide reassurances to you that we will not be serving sausages or grapes in school in the Early Years.
Our Christmas card competition was a roaring success this year and I look forward to sending those out over the coming days. Christmas activities at school are also well underway and we are looking forward to the Christmas lunch extravaganza over the coming days as well as Christmas jumpers on Friday.
