Year 3 Year 3 have amazed us with their resilience and determination this week. They have taken on their learning with enthusiasm, producing some impressive work. In topic, they have continued to explore the oceans focusing on coral reefs and how to protect them. In English, they have learnt how to make their writing more exciting by including powerful adjectives and in maths they have worked on finding equal groups and multiplying 2-digit numbers. Well done Year 3 for impressing your teachers. Mrs Robinson was also so pleased to see almost all of Year 3 in her live assembly on Friday. We are all so proud of you Year 3, keep up the good work!
Year 4 Year 4 has had an exciting week. Dress rehearsals of each pantomime were only surpassed by the real thing on Wednesday morning which were amazing and we know how much you will enjoy seeing each performance. In between performances, the children have enjoyed writing Haikus with a Christmas theme…..do ask them to explain what a haiku is. Maths sounds very interesting, correspondence problems which is in fact finding how many combinations there are. An example might be two types of bread with three different fillings, how many different sandwiches could you make? Some general problem solving has also allowed the children to revise some of the methods that we practised earlier in the term. In topic the children did some research using chrome books and atlases to find out facts about Europe. How many countries are there? What is the population? The pantomime recordings went so well and we are very proud of all the children. They loved seeing familiar faces in the audience! The link with the recording will be sent to you next Friday. Here are some messages from the form tutors about each class:
Snow White by 4CT Mrs Choi and Mrs Thomas were very proud of the children as they saved their best performance so far for the video recording. You will thoroughly enjoy their clear, expressive voices and their enticing enthusiasm, as they act out Roald Dahl’s version where Snow White and the dwarfs live happily ever after but not in the way that you might expect.
Cinderella by 4M It certainly was alright on the night for 4M who delivered a fabulously entertaining performance of the classic fairy tale but with a slightly gruesome twist! The children were completely unfazed by the filming of the show and delivered perfectly polished performances. Mr Maranzana was so proud of them all!
Little Red Riding Hood by 4TC The audience had stars in their eyes after watching 4TC’s fantastic performance of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. The children sang beautifully and managed to deliver their lines with great enthusiasm. Miss Treadwell-Collins was so proud of all of the class for showing just how hard they had worked over the last few weeks. Well done everyone!
Taekwondo success for Keavy We are delighted to announce that Keavy has successfully passed her taekwondo black belt grading. Well done Keavy. A fantastic achievement!
Ted & Sophie's Reading Challenge A few weeks ago we told you about Sophie and Ted’s 2nd lockdown challenge to read 100 books in 28 days. We are delighted to say they read 119 books and so far have raised £210 for Keech. Well done!
