Last week we held our third House meetings of the term. The meetings are an important time for cross-phase discussion and collaboration throughout the prep school. This is where the house spirit is encouraged and house values embraced. The staff House Captains were pleased to be able to award the first set of house colours this week to their flag competition winners and the new house badges were introduced.
House badges are a way of rewarding the children for their participation in house events or their efforts towards house related matters for example the house board. The staff House Captains are able to award coloured badges to recognise these efforts and this then becomes an instantly recognisable achievement for the children to receive praise but also a way to recognise fellow House members and build that community feel.
I hope to see a lot more house badges on show over the coming weeks as we move into our next phase of inter house competitions. Our most recent recipients displayed their badges with pride this week. See photos below.
