What is your name? Joanna Morrison What is your role at Edge Grove? Marketing & Admissions Manager
How long have you been at Edge Grove? 9 years - but it really doesn't feel as long as that!
What did you do before joining Edge Grove? I worked at another prep school doing a similar role but before that, and before having my two children, I had a long career in advertising. I joined the ad industry as a University graduate and worked my way up to Account Director in a couple of London ad agencies. I worked on some great ad campaigns for clients such Royal Mail, Peugeot and Reckitt Benckiser (I don't think I can look at another bottle of pink Vanish stain remover ever again!)
What do you love most about your job? I love meeting and chatting with new parents and guiding them through the admissions process which can be quite daunting. I love marketing the Edge Grove brand - I especially love producing the films, doing the photo shoots and working on new marketing materials. I love the variety of my role and the fact that every day is different.
What do you love most about Edge Grove? Well how can you not fall in love with it as you sweep up the front drive?! The beautiful setting has to be high up on my list but I also love the fact that despite we're in big grounds, it always feels like such a friendly and caring close knit community.
Who is your favourite colleague and why? I think I'm going to have to say my Marketing Assistant Steph Hanna (and not just because she produces this wonderful newsletter!). I don't work full time and the school has grown exponentially over the past few years. Running both marketing and admissions on my own was becoming a little too much so having her support with the school marketing has made a huge difference.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I have to say New York! I just love it there (although I'd prefer to live there when 'normal' life resumes rather than right now!).
What is your biggest fear? Running out of time or not getting the job done to the best of my ability - this does mean I put a lot of pressure on myself but I thrive on the challenge!
What did you want to be when you were little? I wanted to be a teacher or work in advertising - I think I've ended up in a happy middle ground!
