1985 Production of Dick Whittington
In a new feature for the Alumni publication we will be digging into the archives to find pictures of past productions staged at Edge Grove. We have returned to 1985 for the first feature to recall a production of Dick Whittington.
The programme lists the cast so if you are one of the lucky boys to have had a role in this please let us know what it was like and whether you have developed your thespian streak since leaving the school or if it was definitely the last time on a stage!
Many of the sets for productions in the 1960’s were produced under the artist flair of John Walton who taught art at the school as well as being an old boy himself. John is now 96 and still lives in Radlett. He opened his own fine art school after leaving Edge Grove and his sets were some of the most spectacular Edge Grove has seen.
The pictures below are from his own collection of photos that he has passed on to us for the archive. Do you remember helping Mr Walton paint the sets for Aladdin or Cinderella?
